Getting old...sold my 5th wheel RV and now have a 2005 F250 XLT 4X4, LB Crew Cab with only just under 74,000 miles on it.That I'm wondering what to do with?? Has studs in the 6.0 and is in pretty darn good shape. No rust, a number of add-on's like updated oil pan, Mag Hytek rear dif cover etc. Water vs oil temps are about 4° difference running empty and was 8-10° dif towing on a 200° stat in it.
Anyone wanna guess what this would be worth on today's market ? Wondering if selling or giving it to a Grandkid.....
I've always checked local ads and National for a benchmark. Sounds like a nice pickup and the right buyer will pay the price. With that said, I would think at least $20K with that low mileage.
Here's an '05 F250 Diesel 6.0-6.9L 4x4 150K mile (and below) search. Good luck or lucky Grandkid!
Here's what I do. I ask myself what's it worth to me. Then I add 10% on that, put it up for sale, let someone talk me down 10% and let them have it. I don't really care what KBB, NADA or Edmunds, says it's worth. I look at what it would cost me to climb into something else equivalent around here an 05 F250 with low miles and no rust would probably be going $25k - $30K on a dealer lot. so that would be my starting point.
Thanks Mike, I appreciate the input ! Before putting it up for sale me and my son are going to go over it with the MD state inspection requirement check list in hand and insure everything is up to state requirements. All except the cat back stainless exhaust system I have on it as it has the delete muffler option. If the buyer is from MD he can do whatever he wishes to get it thru inspection. I will give him/her the original muffler I stored. Only used it for a year after new. With only the cat in place it isn't really that loud anyway.
