Turbochargers
I am new at this forum, but not new to trucks. I see that you have, haha, LOTS and LOTS of topics to speak of. I just want to speak of what happened to me recently and perhaps anyone else has had this problem. I have a 2002 F250 Powerstroke Supercab longbed which I use to tow a 40 foot gooseneck trailer with my race car inside. I know the weight of the truck with me in it is 7150, but I am not sure of the overall GVWR. But, that is besides the point. It is not above its limit. I was traveling to NC about a month ago and I was still about 700 mles away from my destination when my turbo blew a seal or maybe several seals. Not really sure because the unit will not be taken apart until it gets back to Garett. Anyhow, I had to tow another 500 miles from there with basicly no turbo and towing I think close to 12,000 pounds. Not fun. My vacation was pretty much screwed up because I had to take care of this, they replaced it, and messed up on that too. haha (driving a rental car through the Blue Ridge Parkway isnt fun when you like a big torquey truck) I left NC and headed back to SC for the race and the intake tube from the turbo blew because the mechanic placed the brace too high on the tube. So, it was blowing all the air towards the tranny....., got that fixed......OK another 200 miles wasted. Got to the track, my crew chief took it into town to get fixed, no problem. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and has it created any more after it got fixed? Like I said, I am new at this forum, but not new to trucks or forums. I am glad to join you all and hope you can help me if I need it and vice versa......
