Hello, Need drivers side hard lines from rear to Abs. Went on line SSTubes, What they sent was for 350 motor coach. I need 100 inches, with one end egg flare. They sent 167 inches, all flares the same. Any kind of help is appreciated. Mechanic said he can make it w/ eggflair.$350.He said brakes need to be bleed with computer. Xtra$ Be safe.
Once again another new poster who doesn't identify what year vehicle they're seeking help.
Typically replacement brake lines are fabricated on the vehicle which making what's needed to effect the proper repair.
FWIW I've never known of an "egg flare" being used on an American-made vehicle. This so-called mechanic might be correct about the ABS system needed bled with a scanner or computer that actuates the ABS control module to properly bleed the ABS "block"
Also this mechanic's price for his labor is fair especially if you're unable to do all this yourself.
Nobody orders brake lines for that reason
If you go to Ford and ask their parts guy, he will sell you a 25 foot roll
The bubble flares have been around since Probe 1991 or so (possibly earlier on SHO Taurus)
Ford is just now getting around to putting them on trucks and vans (those fittings are cheaper to manufacture and need no brass sealing insert in the caliper or wheel cylinder)
Good luck and learn to flare brake and fuel lines yourself
They make real fancy flare tools these days that make it foolproof and easy
