Well after procrastinating on getting a COE for the last few years I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a 1948 F6 COE with a 239 flathead. I'm still in the infant stages of planning the build but I know right off the bat I want to cutout and weld in replacement patches for the 4 areas that are corroded through (Both lower rear cab corners and both areas where the "F6" badge sits)
Anyways my question is I 've seen on ebay (link below) lower rear cab corner replacement patches for ford pickups/trucks of the same rear. I'm skeptical that these would work for the COE, does anyone have any experience with these or perhaps has something better to recommend?
As for the area below the F6, most likely I'll fab a patch up for it and weld it in.
Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your 'new' truck! It looks great! You have surmised correctly the cab corners on the COE are different from the conventional cab and the patch panels won't work. You'll be far better off to custom fab what you need from scratch.
