Pay me now or later?

Does it make sense to bite the bullet and manage financial risk to buy extended warranty now 2 months into ownership versus waiting the 36 months or wait since inflation is ongoing? What did the premium warranty cost 2 -3 years ago compared to today? Interested in 8 year/60K/$0 ded on my 22 Lariat.

Well, lots of people don't keep their vehicles past three years, so the value of that warranty for resale might be significantly lower than it's purchase cost. And overall warranties like this are big money makers for the people selling them, which tells yu all you need to know about thier average value to the purchaser. However, I'm not totally against them for certain people. For sure shop around, you can buy it from any dealership, not just where you bought the truck.

Thanks for the input and I plan on keeping this one as my last truck at my age. I never purchased an extended warrany previous and never needed one but this has so many computers and sensors onboard that only using it once may pay for itself. I have found a deal online for $1210 for 8 years and 60K miles @ $0 deductible so managing my risk that makes sense just now.

Grainger and some other place I have forgotten sell online, make sure you get quotes from both of those. And make sure whatever warranty you buy is the real ford one, not a third party that's sold by the dealership.

I'd planned on my 2018 F-250 being my last truck. I really didn't like it a whole lot though and when the time came where I decided I didn't need a 3/4 ton truck I decided to get rid of it and purchase another truck... one never knows...

if you do the route of extended warranty, whether it be now or later, don’t mess with your dealer on price unless he does a discount. Contact flood Ford as they give a pretty good discount on extended ford warranty
