Remove rear spring spacer?
Hi Guys, I have an '82 F150 4wd reg. cab short box. Old plow in front. the guy I bought it from says it has 1 ton springs on it. can that be true if the front springs are coils? Also can I just take out the spacers under the rear springs and just bolt the spring right to the axle to level it? or am I gonna mess up the drive shaft? I know I'm going the wrong way but it still sits kinda high.

i removed the lift blocks from my '93 4x4 ranger because i thought the back end was way too high. now sits level. no problems. i still have the stock shocks need to put on 2wd shocks. the only thing i would worry about is the driveshaft bottoming out if you hit a really hard bump. that could knock out u-joints or damage the transfer case. i need to remove my driveshaft and see how much compression travel i have left. i like the "level" look better. hard to get the spare out from under now.
