Hello group , Have a 96 Bronco EB edition .I'm trying to replace the seat covers. Ordered replacement seat covers from US Auto Nation. After slipping on the new seat cover it seems loose and big. I must be missing something. How do you get new seat covers to fit snug like the original ones ? These are tan Mocha Eddie Bauer covers . The color is nice. Just fitting loose from the padding . Any help is very much appreciated.
Well, the original ones are hooked in to the seat frame using hog ring clips
You are installing an aftermarket cover that is intended to go over the original seat cover right?
They do fit loose
You can tighten them up using wire ties or other means to secure the cover tight to the seat.
If you somehow found an OEM style seat cover that needs the original cover removed, You just pull it tighter and clamp down a few more hog rings using the special pliers
Good luck

These covers are sold as replacement seat covers . And look very close to OEM. Well made and thick. the bottom cover fits tight after removing the original seat cover. It had plastic clips that attaches under the seat bottom. The upper " back " cover is just a tad loose around the center of the back. The material can be patted in a bit and it moves back out a bit. Like it's loose. The edgs seem tight. I was thinking these covers go over the foam seat padding after the original covers are removed. I'm going to put the original seat cover back on and see if I can get the replacement cover over it like you stated. I don't know if it will fit over the original cover. Again the lower " bottom " seat cover fits great after removing the OEM original seat cover and putting this one on. I was thinking these replacement covers go over the foam padding after the original seat cover is removed . These covers are sold on ebay from US Auto Nation. States US made.
Thanks for your help , I have never done any seat covers before .
Well, it sounds like you have done what needs to be done
The plastic clips under the seat bottom sound just like what is on the factory cover
The upper may need new foam to make it real tight
I don't think you should reinstall the old cover and put the new one over the top

US Auto Nation has gotten back with me stating those are replacement seat covers and the original seat covers need to be removed first. They have asked for pictures and video of the problem. The upper or seat back is loose about at the center of one's upper back. If you pat it , it moves in and out about a half inch or so. The rest is tight. I may need to add some padding. Going to wait on their reply.
. My 96 Bronco is a Eddie Bauer Edition. White and tan. Around 80k miles. Just put new Goodyear AT tires on it like the 96 brochure shows. I have a small area to get repaired on the fiberglass top. Going to a body shop next week for repair and painting
Thanks for the help.
I'm about to the point of doing new seat covers on my 1995 Bronco EB with the mocha interior. I'll be very interested in continuing to hear of your experience with this brand and I'd love to see the final result, along with any tips or tricks you learn along the way.
Several years ago I removed the OEM seat covers from a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer to fix the heated seat pad. That vehicle had little Velcro strips down the foam seams between the seat back and the side bolsters which seemed to help the seat covers hold the proper shape. Is there a chance the Bronco seats are similar, and pressing onto the Velcro will make the fit better? I haven't pulled the old covers off my Bronco yet to see if that's the case.

Finished installing both upper and lower front seat covers and both armrest covers on the 96 EB Bronco and they look as good as they did when it was brand new. The texture and thickness is no different than the factory seats. I am extremely pleased. The seat covers came from US Auto Nation of Houston Texas. And they state they are made in Houston. I asked a couple of questions and they got back with me fast. And I'm very satisfied with the prices. If possible I will add pictures later. I'm selling the Bronco and want it like new. The fiberglass top has a small place that needs repairing and then the top painted. The rear window rolls down with the key but not with the dash switch so that's next on the list. I purchased a replacement switch. Hopefully that's it. The dash ash tray hangs down just a tad when closed. Another repair to make. After these repairs it will look like new. I just replaced the tires with Goodyear AT tires. Those are what it came with and are shown on the brochure pictures. It's original Bronco kicking horse spare tire cover is in fine shape. Have the cargo net and roll down cover. I will miss it. But I just got a F450 KR and I'm hooked. I know this is the Bronco site . But I have to admit after Ford moved the front tires outward the turning radius is close to the Broncos. I have a 2015 F350 SRW and it's a 40 acre turn . But not with the F450. The only complaint I've ever had about the 96 Bronco EB is the MPG. The 5.8 has never gotten any better than about 15mpg . But they are a beautiful vehicle and I'm not seeing as many on the roads these days .Again , If possible I will try to add pictures of the new seat covers . And these were not pull over the existing seat covers . The original seat covers had to be removed first. . Thanks for all of the help and comments. This is a good site . I am very impressed with this Ford site.Enjoy the weekend.
Thank you for the feedback on the US Auto Nation seat covers. It sounds like I should get my order placed.
I haven't pulled the old seat covers off yet, but there are some tears and areas where some foam appears like it might be missing. Do the new seat covers have some foam or is it just the thickness of "leather" to where I may need to graft in some new foam?
