Extra piece ?

I have a 6 hour move tomorrow with the 5th wheel and was under the 2016 jacking up the truck for jack stands to rotate the front tires and do a quick visual at everything underneath and saw this metal ring resting where it's circled in picture. The ring looks brand new almost with no markings other than where it appeared to bounce around in a circle leaving a black line around it. I've never noticed before but doesn't mean it wasn’t there for awhile.

I've looked all over the engine area and can't imagine where it came from? Truck runs fine. Just strange though. 😕

Picture taken laying on back looking up under the truck.

Don't recognize that part. Possibly road debris

I suppose it could of come off the road somehow but where it was in the engine area would be almost impossible seeing I had to use a long screwdriver and fingers to work it out of the resting position. It almost looks like a ring that would go over an end of hose but it's smaller than anything that I compared it to in the engine area.

No odd sounds or fluids dripping from engine so it can't be something important.

I couldn't find the winning lottery ticket instead an obscure ring of some sort.

looks like a piece of exhaust pipe, too small for the truck though.

That's what I was thinking. A scrap piece of tubing that was zipped off for one reason or another.

bonus parts free of charge. I have no idea what it would have been used for.
