Just finished doing the head gaskets, exhaust manifolds , timing chains etc etc on my 2004 F250 super duty, and am putting it back together. Took the inside cowelling/cover out of the wheel wells
to get easier access while I was working. Now putting them back in place I have found an electrical plug off the wiring harness that I don't know what it is for. Drivers side up near the headlight wiring.
Any suggestions? Mystery F250 plug.
Wires are tan/orange, and black. Could it be for the fog light option that I dont have? It looks like it was not plugged into anything before, as it is dirty.
My truck is an '02, but I know the fog lights were the same up through at least 2004. My plug and wires are close to that location but not those colors or that shape of plug. My plug seems like it would be longer since it goes to the left side fog light and then continues over to the right side. My plugs are more of a rounded flat design. There are a couple of unused connectors in that same area on my truck and theyve never been connected to anything in 20 years. Have you checked the contacts for voltage?
Thanks for the reply. No I have not checked the plug for voltage. There is some corrosion in one of the contact holes , so probably is hot. I just taped it off and tucked it in. And yes there is one more "capped off" connector that
I can see in the same area. Runs fine so far.
cheers,
B.
