I have a 2019 F250SD. Someone stole it and disabled the tracking capabilities. It has since been recovered and I have picked it up. How do I reconnect the tracking and navigation?
Any idea how they disabled it? Might have just disconnected the gps antenna? May have cut the cable for the antenna? Pulled the fuse on the navigation/radio? Unfortunately, there are too many factors without looking at it.
They somehow duplicated the fob. When it was recovered it had a new fob that totally mimicked and did everything my fob does. The insurance company wants to total the truck because they they changed/altered the VIN #. I am wanting to buy the truck back but I am going to have to repair windshield and anything else ( which I can find nothing other than the tracking portion doesn’t work) Maps, Bluetooth, everything else works. No body damage at all.
My dad bought a 2017 F250 theft recovery at auction a while back. No damage except rear view (interior) mirror assembly was missing and same problem you have. Once the correct mirror was replaced and reprogrammed it fixed the issue. His was Lariat ultimate package which includes nav. You didn’t mention that piece missing but could it have been altered somehow? FOB copying is definitely a thing, best to store them with signal blocked when not in use.
I looked at what little wiring diagrams I have and did not find much. If the thief was smart enough to replicate your key fob, then he likely knew about the OEM tracking ability. I do not know which of the two roof top "pucks" has the GPS antenna, but you might pop off the cover to see if the GPS antenna coax wire has been cut. Sounds like from what you describe the GPS Module is not getting a signal from the satellites. There is also a connection in the dash behind the display that could have been disconnected.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look into it. I will definitely look into those possible culprits. Thank you, Thank you. I will keep ya posted if i figure it out or once it is corrected.
Thank your for your response and for sharing what worked for your dad, i will look and see if i can tell anything. One more thing… how do you store your FOB with signal blocked??
So for the center stack removal to get behind the radio is pretty simple:
From memory,
the trim around the that dash box is just pressed in using tabs. I was able to get one corner up and then worked my way around it to remove it
the speaker is the same. If I recall the cover of the speaker will just pop off with some effort exposing the speaker. A couple of screws hold the speaker in place. remove those and the wiring on the back side of the speaker and set aside.
There are a couple of 8mm bolts that hold the tray in place somewhere in this sequence so I belevie that is now, they are towards the back and are easy to get to with a long socket.
So once the the trim, speaker and tray are removed you will see the inside center of the stack and behind the radio and screen. You can put you hand down there with room available. you should be able to see the back side and the connections and wiring.

Google Faraday bag and you will see a bunch. I have a few and they do work.
Just pulled the top tray off to install a mount and a few more 12V sockets. The tray is held on with two 7 mm screws near the speaker and 3 tabs up front. Then just unplug the speaker and you have access behind the screen and can continue to pull the trim off around the radio if you want too. And yes there is lots of room behind the screen!

I make it a practice to not use my fob to lock and unlock my truck. Rather I press the lock button on the drivers door panel as I exit to lock it and grab the door handle to unlock it. I could never figure out if the fob emits a continuing "ping" while you passively have the fob. I have look and asked, but never got any real answer. My hope is that if it does "ping", that there would not be a full transmission of the coded data stream like it would if a button on the fob was pressed. One of these days I will dig out RF radio service monitor and check to see if there are and transmission coming from the fob. Being that its an older service monitor- IFR-1200 Super, if the fob is using digital transmission it may not work on the analog service monitor. I am reluctant to go the route of a faraday bag since it would need to constantly be unbagged.

I'm considering this same project, more pictures please!
Kshoop1958- and another google search gets this , not sure if it’s what you want but keep searching through YouTube or google and I’m sure it’s there somewhere.
