I’ve changed plugs and wires. New fuel filter. Cut off the cat and took out the mass air flow sensor already. The truck will start fine and rpm’s will go up when In park. When I put in drive and take off down the road it’ll reach about 40 and stall out. I could have it floored and rpm’s won’t go up and won’t go any faster. It’s almost like it’s stalling out. I can hear the fuel pump kick on when Turned to accessory but I’m not sure if that could still be the problem. Let me know if y’all know anything about it before I spend the money and time to change out the fuel pump. Thanks!
Lots of unknowns. Were you having problems Before removing the MAF sensor & Cat Converter??? If you scanned for trouble code clues before tossing parts at the problem, post All code Numbers, as they can help focus a trouble shoot. Test & replace faulty, damaged, worn-out scheduled maintenance suspects, but resist tossing parts at the problem on a hunch.
This puppy isn't going to run well without a functioning MAF sensor in it, as the ECM uses its PID to measure airflow into the engine when we go at throttle up!!
Would be helpful to know some history on the problem, like did it come about suddenly after some event, or slowly over time, why you removed the MAF sensor & cat converter & which engine-tranny combo it has & the mileage on them???
