Going disc brakes on Dana 44.

I got a later model Dana 44, out of a 78, and was reading up I can swap the outers over to my current Dana 44. This would be great since I wouldn't have to swap the gears. So can I just unbolt everything knuckles and swap it over? Never done this before. Thank you!

Closed knuckle/king pin 44 outers are not compatible with the open/ball joint type.

Not for F-100/150's. You are thinking of F-250 44's.
