I have the same problem with my '96 Explorer. The ATF was fried, but changing it hasn't helped so far. I had them hook it up to the computer afterword and the report said 'solenoid B stuck off'. The tech running the computer said that this is most likely because the ATF was bad and that within 50 miles or so of changing the ATF it should free up. I'd say I'm about 100 miles in now and haven't seen any change.
I'd appreciate hearing if you've solved your problem; I'll certainly post if I figure it out.
I have a very simular problem....When I excelerate my 92 Flord Explorer dont want to shift up until I let off the gas.The computer says gives the code 566 3-4 shift soleniod failure...
I changed my filter and fluids with very little change...
as I had the pan off I saw two solenoids....One of which the back where the wires connect was very loose...I'm thinking thats the little bugger giving me the problem..........I have a question for anyone who might know...Is it dificult to change the 3-4 shift solenoid...and where can I get One...??
