Unhappy Worn Rocker Stud

I've been chasing an annoying valve train "tap" for a few weeks now.

I just discovered that (at least) one of my rocker studs has been worn (deeply gouged) by the rocker. I'm pretty sure they are pressed in studs.

My question - am I gonna have to pull the head to replace it?
Or can I pop it out and tap & screw in a stud? I realize all the reasons this would be better done with the head off - but just want a quick fix, for now.

I guess I'm gonna have to take my spare head in an get it worked up. I was planning on 1.94's, screw-ins, a bit more porting, etc., - just not right now.

Hey, Silver Streak, do you think I can pull it off? (without pulling the head). I've been wrenching for 38 years - so I know about the pitfalls & precautions.

Thanks to anyone who's tried & done, or failed,... for responding.

Nevermind - that was almost too easy. Trial run on the spare head says - drain down antifreeze first!
