Power steering question
Need some help on a power steering hose replacement,. Just returned from a trip to Disney with the grandchildren, on the way down I noticed a slight drip of power steering fluid under the Ex. I needed about a half of a quart to refill it when we arrived. After two weeks in Florida I checked it and it was down a quart ,filled it and headed home. Half way home I added another quart and before getting on the NJ Turnpike I needed another quart. Got home fine and parked her in the driveway, the next day after unloading I was moving her to the street and the hose sprung a leak, it looks like one of the fittings corroded thru. My question is does the Ex have a hydro boost, because that’s the problem I am having in getting a replacement at the auto parts store, they don’t know which hose to give me I have an 03 Ex 4x4 limited with the 6.8 gasser. It looks to me like it’s the hose coming from the steering gear to the pump but I have to investigate further It’s the top hose when looking down at it coming from the steering gear
Also if I decide to take it to the shop can I drive it and not cause damage to the system? Thanks for any help that you guys can provide.
