Ranger buying advice
I am looking to buy a 2 wheel drive Ranger with 4cyl 5sp, and was looking for advice on things I need to avoid or check into. Most of them for sale in my area have 200,000 mi or more. Are these 4cly good for 250,000+ miles? Thanks

At that mileage, it’s an obvious crapshoot.
I had a ‘94 Ranger that I bought with about 209,500 miles on it. Got it to about 283,000 miles when a dead cylinder #4 made itself apparent.
Kinda wish I had kept it and tossed an engine in it.
I had to rebuild the shifter bushings...the 5-speed does have plugs under the shifter that leak over time as well.
