I just got my truck. Driving it home I avg 3.5 mpg and seems to be impossible to get over about 4k-5k rpm. I'm guessing here by sound since my cluster doesn't work. My wife was pacing me and I barely got it to 60 mph. I got a code reader and got a 327 and 328. I know it'd effect it some but I can't imagine it being that bad from just an egr. Any ideas?
You got three digit codes so you have a 90 what year truck? What model, engine and transmission? I have a manual transmission and shift around 3,500-4,000 rpm. There really isn’t much to be gained by revving the engine that high.
Now that I have access to my code book…Those two codes could be KOEO active or stored or they could have come from the engine running test so what are they?
You should get low to mid teens for fuel mileage so with it dumping that much gas into the engine did the catalytic converter get damaged causing the exhaust to be restricted? Are they bad exhaust leaks upstream of the oxygen sensor so the computer is trying to compensate but cannot add enough fuel? How is the engine running? Do you have vacuum leaks?

those are koeo codes. I do have an update. So I filled up today for the first time and there is a leak in the fill tube of tank 2. I tightened it up at the clamp so it should be good now. Also, i was only able to put 14 gallons in giving me a mpg of more around 7. Fuel tank 1 is now giving me pressure issues like it's out of gas but isn't then works fine again off and on. So I might have an issue there. Looks like cat had been removed a d replaced with a series of reducing pipes. There seems to be an exhaust leak at the collector as I see the gasket blown out when running.

326 (R,M) Pressure Feedback EGR shows low pressure EGR not seating or not seating intermittently - PFE 327 (O,R,M) EGR feedback signal is/was low - EVR or PFE
326 is a Memory code since it was not running. 327 in this case could be KOEO or Memory. Memory codes are displayed after KOEO codes repeat themselves. Memory codes mean that the code is not currently active but was at some point. Memory codes need to be removed by running the test and when Memory codes come up, turn the reader off or disconnect the jumper. That will clear Memory. So to know if 327 is a valid active code or in Memory you need to run the test again and verify which one.
