Unhappy Oil Pan Swap (NOT Fox body style!)

Engine: '76 302
Truck: Bullnose Bronco
Oil pan: Spectra Premium p/n: FP01B 6qt capacity for 80-84 E150 (with dipstick hole) in side)
Oil pick up tube : Melling p/n: 68-S3 for 80-82 F100, 90-96 E150, &93-96 bronco

Ive heard this oil pan is a fairly common swap because of the dipstick hole. was wondering if anybody has done this on their 302?

My concern is the 1" between pan and screen that it might starve the engine of oil? Anybody have any insight or first hand experience on this?
