Stalling with a/c on

I have a 1978 f100
past month:
rebuilt carb- (then professionally tuned)
new coil, spark plugs, gas filter, oil filter, gaskets, manifold bolts
PO had vintage air installed

ran amazing for a week and now it’s having problems. Sounds okay in neutral but stalls when in park, drive, reverse. Runs rough and kinda lurches a few times when stationary before engine shuts off. I noticed that when I turn the ac off I have no issues. Since I just had it professionally tuned i dont think it’s a carb tuning issue. I have no idea what could be the problem though.

also, today I turned the ignition off and removed the key but then engine stayed on and was kinda sputtering at slow rotation. Had to turn the ignition a few times to get it running normal before it would shut off properly. No idea if the problems relate. It stalled several times after going home and I had no issue starting immediately when I turned the ignition tho.

Sounds like you're dieseling, higher octane helps.

You may have an idle speed solenoid on your A/C kit holding the throttle open more. is should shut off with the key but if it's not it would cause your symptoms.
