Just fired my 93 f150 up today. It's been sitting about a month and now when I take off it feels like
the wheels are not turning freely. Do you think it might be the wheel bearings or the calipers ? I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has. tks. trimtab
It's a 1993 f15o xlt 5.o (302) 2wd
Trying to back up, do same thing, have you tried jacking up one wheel and spin it?
Thats what 25% chance you pick the right one, the first time, I on the other hand would have, 175% to pick the wrong one 3x
No I have not jacked any of the wheels up yet. I was hope'n someone might point me toward the reason.
the wheels will turn, but you can tell there's something keeping them from turning freely. I thought it might
be the wheel bearings or caliper. I just hate to start putting it up in the air without knowing what it might be.
I'm an old Texan ,88 soon and it's a little hard pump'n that floor jack. I guess your right, just put it up one at a time
and see what's there. It's pads on the front and shoes on the back. Well, thank you for the response. Adios.
If it doesnt move much unrestricted id do the classic find some pavement and put it in reverse and do a few hard stops, then go forward and do a few hard stops. If it still doesnt improve, then Id go back to investigate(check the park brake of course as sandy suggested)
Thanks Sandymane and auroragirl for your responses. I did have the emergency brake on at some point during the time it set, I released it when I drove it the first time. So I will try the quick stops, (reverse/forward) first thing tomorrow morning. Maybe it just got hung up and didn't release.
If that is it, I guess I'm not just an "old" Texan, i'm a "dumb" one...Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
Adios, trimtab
My parking brake cable on the driver side froze and caused the issue you are having so I replaced it. Later the other side did the same and I had to replace it. Proper adjustment of the parking brake is important. If you do replace a cable take careful notice of the routing and you will need to measure the cable to get the proper new one.

Heh.. parking brake fun... yeah I had a cable seize on me while moving a trailer in dirt driveway, quickly did I start digging to china unknowingly. got pinched.
Also my foot pedal is messed up because my gpa used the emergency brakes as the brakes for a period when the hydraulics were bad , that was a very.. him.. thing to do..
