Anyone ever have the lower filter not line up? when it hits the stop, the plug for water in fuel won't reach. 2012 .....had to actually back if off the stop to plug it in. This doesn't seem normal.
Yea they are oem filters. I have 2 other caps that do the same thing. Broken stop on the housing may be the issue. I been concerned about the caps.
we backed it off to where it normally would stop and started the truck to see if it would leak or even start.
it started fine and no leaks. Just nervous something will end up happening

Are you using OEM fuel filters?
If you are not at the stop then you will probably have air or a fuel leak.
I would suggest you take it back off, look inside the housing and inspect the filter and o ring.
You will be fine, the stop has been broken on mine since I bought it. I've changed filters 3x with no leaks, I just count the turns when removing & put it back the same amount. The way that thing seals I would bet it would have to be off a couple of turns before leaking. Got a new cap on the shelf & will change it one day lol
