Hi Everyone, My A/C stopped working so I checked the fuses they are fine, The compressor clutch won't kick on?
I see there is a relay for the a/c in the main fuse box under the hood. Is there away to check the relay? or what else would cause the compressor not to kick on?
Please Help
I had the same problem this summer. You might want to check to see if you have any refrigerant in the system, it may be too low or too high. The commpessor and clutch have a switch to tell it when to cycle on and off. this is a saftey switch so it will not do any damage to other ac parts. You can check the refigerant level with a ac manifold guage set that you can get at autoparts stores.
You dont have any refregerant in the system so the compressor wont kick on to avoid damage. I not sure if 94's got converted to the 134a, or if there still r-12, i think its still r-12, you might want to convert over, and also get a leak test to see if you have a leak any were..........I know up here in CT auto parts store are no longer selling this stuff b/c its too cold to do it, not tell the spring will they start back up.....i think its the same with garages but if you live in a warm climate you should be fine........i would check wal mart last i was there a few weeks back they had cans of the stuff for 2 bucks when they go for 7..........
Golfboy is correct. For what R12 costs now, it's cheaper to convert to 134. Plus, the public can buy 134, only licensed AC mechanics can buy the R12 and they have to sign their life away to get it.
if you have a leak it is the condenser in front of the radiator the explorers are notorious for the condencer roting away from water and the salt in the winter time
