1998 ford ranger xlt o/d problems
I have a 1998 ford ranger xlt that the o/d light comes on and keeps flashing. I had the code checked and it is 1740. It is an automatic 4 cylinder with the power of a 6 cylinder. I was told it was the torque converter/clutch system and needs replacing. can you tell me if that is the problem or is it something else. when the o/d light comes on flashing when you stop it pulls then its alright and when you turn the truck off it does not flash until later when your driving.
