We are putting a generator back on a 56Ford passenger car, and are trying to deside if the adjustment braket belongs sandwiched in between front stabelizing bracket with round hole in the sandwich or the long slot? This car has bee apart a few years and we forgot!
There is a picture on page 221 of the 1956 Ford Car shop manual that shows the generator mounting for a 8 cylinder. The adjusting bracket is attached with the hole end on the back side of the front end plate of the generator. Hope that helps.
Thanks, now if i can only find that long lost manual, but anyway you say the hole goes onto the gen. and the slot goes on the engine side. we are trying to see if we can't scratch paint!
