Backup Light Not Working

I have a 1980 F100 with 3-on-the-tree manual transmission. My problem is that my backup (reverse) lamps don't work and I don't know where the switch is. Can someone please help me find it so I can solve my problem. Thanks.

I can't say for sure on the three speed manual but the switch on the T-19 4 speed is on the transmission. IIRC it's up on top, but follow the wires to your switch.

Before you jump to getting a new switch be sure to check your bulbs, sockets and grounds. Check for continuity. 9 times out of 10 it's not the switch.

In this link, on page 9 of 13 (16-11-10 in the manual) is that the switch located between the two shift levers in the picture?

I dont see how the switch would be mounted to the trans between the levers?
I would look at the bottom of the column for a bracket / switch that the column lever would hit.
Other wise I would follow the levers at the bottom of the column to the trans for the switch.

BTW besides the T19 the T18 & NP435, all 4sp granny first, have the light switch on the top of the trans.

This is called a "toploader" 3 speed and all it has on top is a sheetmetal cover. There is something there between the levers, but I just can't quite make it out.

Where is Cory when you need him as he had a truck with a 3.03 trans in it.
