Question
I think i took one of my lives the other day. I almost broke my tailbone after a pretty bad crash. Messed up my elbow pretty bad too.
I want a Harley! You don't understand how bad I would like to own a Harley Davidson...wow, I almost drool at the very thought. Anyways, back to the trucks! C'mon you can't beat having an F150 6-speed with a 4.6L Supercharged!C'MON!
I didn't realize you were so interested in flushing your money down the toilet. Harley Davidson is the American symbol of how to rip consumers off my selling them overpriced pieces of unrelieable junk. I've owned 2 and they both failed miserably on me. I'll never waste my money on that 3/4 japanese built junk again.

Who ever said riding is about luxury? How long have you been riding and how many bikes do you own? I thought so, so be quiet. You don't know what your talking about.
Riding is about being in the elements, about a sense of or feeling of freedom when traveling. It's about exhileration.
If you want to be comfortable than you can sit on your couch and watch tv.
You want comfortable? I give you comfortable. Last weekend my friend and I decided to take the bikes down to the Keys. It's about a 2 1/2 hour ride in good weather.
When we left my house it was sunny. We stopped at the corner station for gas and smokes. As soon as we finished topping off our tanks it started pouring.
Now I don't mean just a light drizzle. I'm talking Hurricane type typhoon rain so bad you couldn't see 5 feet in front of you.
Now at this point, this is where YOU would probably call for someone to pick you up and drive you home because riding in this type of rain is NOT luxurious.
However, being the REAL bikers that we are, we went for it.
rained ALL THE WAY DOWN, non stop typhoon rain.
Took us 5 hours. No helmets, no jackets, nothing.
When we got there it continued to rain throughout the remainder of the day into the night. We drank a few beers and ate a bunch of food.
Now, when it was time to go home, Still typhoon rain and dark out and we had some drinks in us. We could have got a hotel and stayed overnight.
But did we? NO, because we are REAL bikers. And REAL bikers ride no matter what, regardless of comfort, regardless of weather conditions, we ride.
Harley guys trailer their bikes everywhere. They are NOT REAL bikers, no way no how. That's why you want one, so you can trailer it around in the back of your truck because you don't want to get road grime on your face, or you don't want to get wet, or you don't want to mess your hair.
Then, when you get to the bike event, you'll pull your Harley off your truck, as ALL Harley guys do, put on all your dirty leather crap so people will think you actually rode there, drive 2 miles to the event and park your bike.
That's you. Not REAL BIKER material.
Sorry for busting so hard on you Joe but that statement you made about bikes being about Luxury was the most stupid thing I ever heard.
You are a complete retard for riding with alcohol in you in those conditions. End of story. No jacket, no helmet, No common sense.
Lost a lot of respect for you in your last post.

Bikers drink and drive. It's a bad habit, this is true and is not a smart thing to do. But it's a fact.
I go on poker runs every sunday with nearly 85% Harley motorcycle clubs. The Owtlaws, Mystic Seven, US Military Vets and so forth. They start drinking at 8am and don't stop until 8pm and ride from bar to bar all day long.
The Harley guys are the worst for this.
If you've ever been to or read about Bike Week at Daytona, you probably know that anywhere from 5 to 15 motorcyclists die every year at that even, all due to DUI.
I do it myself, I cannot lie. However, I am not as bad as some and don't do it often.
And Florida is really bad for it because it contains the most dense motorcycle population in the nation. So there's alot of drunken bikers on the road all the time.
And I'm not talking just a few (2 or 3) beers like my friend and I had, I'm talking DRUNK.
I'm sorry I lost your respect, we're just really hardcore riders and enjoyed that rain ride emensly. I'd do it again in a minute.

All I said is we had a few beers over a 5 hour time span and drove our bikes home in the rain. My post was about the uncomfortableness of harsh riding in response to Joe's post about motorcycling being a luxury sport.
How did this turn into a drinking and driving argument???
I feel bad that you lost someone man but please don't take it out on me.
