Well, looking around some more, I realized I probably should post my intro here, instead of in the forum specific to my truck.
Hi from West Central Florida. I am a new member who joined tonight.
I have a 1966 SWB F100 Flare Side. It is not running.
The outside looks like its been not just in, but under, a swamp. But the rust is actually not that bad.
After I googled about 10 different questions about my truck and kept getting directed to this sight (and always to an informative article), I decided to join.
And, looking around tonight in my year-specific forum, I see even more articles. Great to find a group who are thinking / asking all the what-if and I-wonder-if-I-could questions that I dream up.
Thanks. I know what you mean. I was looking for a while and saw more than a few very rusty trucks with very unreasonable prices.
That's why I jumped on this one when I saw it for sale, even though it's not running. (Well, that and the fact it has an inline six.)
I love the sound and torque of the big FE in my 1972, but since my only real prior V-8 experience is with small block Windsors, the FE is still pretty foreign to me.
Plus, I like being different with an inline six.
