I have a tuned '17 F250 with 60k miles that will slip in 3rd gear and occasionally slip out of 3rd and hit 1st gear. The transmission also hesitates going into reverse. The transmission fluid on the dipstick is brown and smells burnt, has anyone experienced this and had a solution rather than a full rebuild? Possibly a valve body or solenoid issue causing my direct clutches to slip? Thanks for the help

I can't add much here but the burnt smell definitely can't be good. You should think about doing a few pan fluid drains to get fresh fluid in there but sounds like you may have overheated the trans and the clutches. I'm guessing here as I'm no trained mechanic let alone a transmission rebuilder. Good luck.
