I hate that style, but that's a personal preference. I prefer the molded plastic one, bought it for the wife's 2019 F150 (not sure if one is made for the SDs'), because if it's in the way I just fold it out of the way - the halfs tuck up behind the fenderwells when you don't need the extender instead of having to completely remove it.
