Hi All, We have a 94 Explorer Eddie Bauer with the single cd JBL stereo. and I want to take out the stock speakers and do away with the amp and sub woofer. and replace the speakers
and the stereo with a after market stereo.
What I need to know is do all the speaker wires run back to the amp or do they go to the
stereo? or is the amp just for the woofer? I would like to use the stock speaker wires if I can.
Thanks for any input.
John
If the setup is the same as what was available on the 92, then the head unit is a non powered unit, thus the amp. There is an amp bypass wire harness that will allow you to disconnect the one amp and continue to use the factory wiring. The second amp is dedicated to the sub. If you are not installing a new sub, simly disconnect it and go about your day. If you are installing a new sub, either in the stock location or not, I would recommend running new wires for that. That way you can include an inline fuse and run larger cable for the power, along with RCA's for the signal to the amp.
Hi again, has anyone put 6 1/2 Infinity speakers in the front doors?
And has anyone put 6x9 Infinity speakers in the rear doors?
Has anyone put speakers in the rear hatch door? if so what size can you put back there?
Thanks Again
