poor idle, start
I have a '98 Explorer AWD V8. In the last four days after the weather turned cold, it is hard starting and will not idle at the correct speed. It used to idle between 800 and 1000 rpm, now it is roughly 300 to 500. It does not miss or run rough, just very poor idle which causes it to stall at times. I have charged the battery to full, added Chevron fuel injector cleaner, and a fuel water remover. It is exhausting white smoke at times.
The check engine light does not come on, and it does not siplay any abnormal traits at any speed once underway. I am thinking perhaps electric choke? ANY assistance is apprecited.
