...but one heck of a toll between eastern and western shore ! Then there is the weekend backup at the MD bridge too. Did it once, will not do again. Got off I-95 at Kings Dominion and went over to 301. Saved lots of time there.

I always left early enough to avoid most traffic. Which MD bridge was backed up, the tunnel or the Chesapeake Bay Bridge? I do like 301 but lots of traffic lights and small towns that you pass through.

I have found out that moving is much better than sitting in a backup( I-95 or the CBB) so the red lights don't bother me much. Once you hit a green in LaPlata and Waldorf you usually sail thru the rest. I hate getting up early to miss traffic. I did it for many years when working.
