I am attempting my first clutch replacement. MY truck is a 1961 F100, 223 with three on the tree. I found a YouTube video of said job on a 1966 F100 as a reference only to find that mine looks nothing like that one. My bell housing looks to be the rear motor mounts also. Dumb questions start here: Can I remove the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel without supporting the engine to remove the bell housing? Any reference videos of this on a 61? Thanks in advance!
UPDATE! I got it out! Not looking forward to the install. I’m guessing it is two bolts install, turn the flywheel, install two more etc? How do I check the pilot bushing? I’m taking the whole thing to a clutch shop about an hour from me for repair/replace tomorrow. Thanks for all y’all’s help!!!
For the poor bushing is as simple as making sure it’s not bagged up, chipped, and since your taking it to a shop just have them get you a new bushing, I’ve always replaced mine when I have done a clutch
