Well My poor old truck is about to bite the big one again. I think the oil pump just went bad. It now has almost 690,000 miles on it and I rebuilt it 300,000 ago. I put in a crane compucam , that I never was happy with, and installed a ford motorsport mass air kit and made it sefi. Other than that it was a stock overhaul. I didn't even have to bore it out thankfully. I may not get by like that this time though. I was just looking for recommendations for building it again. It is a 91 f-150 4x4 with a c-6 trans and 4.10 locking diffs. I got it new and have always loved this truck but also always have wanted a little more low end power. The compucam killed that but sure will pull past almost anything on the highway. Since I am running around 3000 rpm at 60 anyway I rarely try to pass anyone. They usualy pass me.
I plan to do a total overhaul and would specificaly like your thoughts on cams for low end power and trailer towing. We are about to get a slide in camper for it and it will need to keep up with my old chevy 3/4 ton hopefully when it is pulling the horse trailer. I am rebuilding a new engine for it too right now but that is a story for another time.
