Keyless Entry
I recently bought a 2002 cc,psd,4x4. I only got one key with it,no remotes. Does my truck have a keyless entry system? How can I tell........What do I look for to indicate if I have it, so I can order remotes?

Not sure how you can tell. Call dealer or perhaps someone else here might know. I just recently purchased my truck. It was a repo and only came with one key and one remote. 2 are usually provided with new vehicles. My concern was that a second remote was out there somewhere. Called dealer and they said they could reprogram plus a new remote was, I believe, $36.00. haven't checked into rekeying the locks yet.

Unless it is a Lariot, it prob. may not have the keyless entry from the factory. I was suprised when I upgraded from my 2001 F150 XLT, to my 2003 F250SD XLT that it was not a standard option on the 250, it was on the 150.
I'm sure someone can post the exact instructions again, but I think if you turn the key ON-OFF six times the check eng. light may blink rapidly, if it does, I'm pretty sure this means the remote lock computer is installed, and if you had a remote (laying around) and you hit the button it would program it to that remote.
This has been a topic in the past, so you might try searching the threads.

If you have keyless entry, you'll have a keypad next to the door handle on the drivers door. If you mean a remote entry system, I'm not sure how'd you find that out on a used truck. Maybe you could have a dealer run the VIN and see what the original options were?

turn the key from off to on (do not start it) about 6-8 times. if the power locks lock-unlock by theirself while you are doing that it is set up for remotes. you just buy you a remote, do that again and when it goes lock-unlock again hit the lock and unlock buttons on the remotes and that will program them. if you cycle the key and it does nothing than sorry you don't have that option already. you can still buy the kit and add it on if you still want it though.
