Changing from reg to synthetic trans fluid
#2
Assuming your tranny is in good condition, and at 100K plus, that is iffy, switching to synthetic is OK.
If it were me, I would switch to syn on a new tranny or a freshly rebuilt or a fairly "young" tranny. One with as many miles as your is likely to have some leaks(that is not good with syn) and or may be ready for a rebuild thus the use of syn would be a waste of money IMHO.
Also depends on the year you have. pre 95 E4OD had problems with the torque converter and other systems which lead to early failure. 95 and newer had upgraded components. If you have a 94 or newer you are almost sure to need a rebuild within the next few years depending on how you treat it, luck, maintence etc.
It should not hurt any worse than using dino, but if you have any leaks it may get worse and your miles mean the benefit of syn is already past it's opportunity to do you good.
Just my opinion,
