Rear Leaf Spring Upgrade

I've been working on installing quadravan rear leaf springs (supposedly, they are supposed to give a 2 inch lift to match the front end lift), and I just wanted to complain about the ford engineers and their mounting bolt placement. I guess they forgot the frame was in the way so the bolt can't slide out completely. Must've installed the rivets for the shackle mounts after they slid all the bolts in. What a nightmare. And it's too cluttered to fit a grinder disc in there.

any way, i did get it out, just had to grind part of the bolt, turn it with a wrench 90 degrees, and repeat 4 times. I'm going to install the new Grade 8 bolts logically, so you get the bolt out like a normal human.

I ran into that before. Might have used a sawzall to cut them. Engineers sure can be ********s sometimes.

I got both springs replaced and they are really nice. the van sits up about 2" higher and they are a bit stiffer. I good upgrade.

I reoriented the mounting bolts to the outside and it's a piece of cake. I don't know what they were thinking on the assembly line.
