1965 F100 electrical issue
Replaced:
Started coil
starter
light switch
ignition
turn signal switch
rewired the whole truck with 22 circuit system
found charred wire around the resistor wire.
after rewire again no issues for 3-4 months.
now again intermittently no power and sometimes will die if turn signal or headlights are turned on. You can hear it miss firing sometimes with turn signal on and will die.
then you can start it and sounds strong and it won’t die.
Any help would be much appreciated

Ground cable from engine to firewall?
Ground cable from battery to chassis or frame?
Ground cable from starter to frame?
Did you replace the starter solenoid, or the ignition coil?
Is the coil good, or failing?
Info about "resistor" in the ignition circuit: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...istor-etc.html
Are you running an alternator, or a regulator/generator?
Failing regulator?
I'm not familiar with "22 circuit system".
If light bulbs kick the amperage demand over what your current system can handle:
1 - that's not right, and
2 - the problem is something in the electrical generation and storage system (generation and battery and charging regulation).
However, if there is an intermittent bad ground, or an intermittent short in the light switching system (including the wiring), then that alone could interrupt overall supply enough to interrupt or weaken everything including spark, which would kill the engine.
Chafed wire that makes occasional ground, or loose ground connection.
it’s a 22 speedway motors rewire kit for 65 ford.
more than what was needed
the previous owner put in a GM style one wire alternator with built in voltage regulator.
I checked all the grounds.
without even driving it trying to trouble shoot it. The thing will fire right up one minute then the next won’t even turn over.
the brake lights just stopped working. Running lights and turn signal do work when there are no issues and it runs.
