I will provide a link to an article I think some people find interesting.
It talks about NO incentives for Super Duties at the present time. And the promise that going forward, their will be some incentives from FORD.
Also, they believe that going forward into 2023 that the chip shortage will ease.
Another take from the article is FORD's statement that they are positive that their will be less physical inventory in the future and more ordering from customers.
Less inventory on the lot, meaning less supply, thus higher prices going forward. I'll die on this hill, that is that prices are not going to go down for MY23, 24, and onward. If someone is waiting for prices to go down, they may be waiting forever.
Unless of course prices do go down, then which we're all screwed because the economy has gone into a depression.
Ford's CEO already stated he is redirecting chips to their electric vehicles. They have chips, they're just deciding to use them for their EVs.
The new CEO is a massive supporter of the current president and is determined to get us all into EVs asap. He expressed frustration that he couldn't make Super Dutys electric by next year.

It's all smoke and mirrors. As awesome as the latest videos and reviews on the Ford Lightning are, my biggest take away is that EVs and long distance trips do not mix. Much less hauling anything over a bed load of lumber.
Ford's CEO can plan to hire personnel to support his dreams of a fleet of EV super duties. Meanwhile I'll plan to take good enough care of my 7.3l so that my 3yr old daughter will drive it one day.

For my 22 7.3 I plan on giving to my oldest in 10 years if I get a RCLB this year. I am holding ont my 43k mile panther body though, that car is MINE lol.
don't get me wrong, I’m not against ev entirely, but I do think with our dependence on lithium batteries and parts made overseas being so prevailant, ford is in over its head promising $40k lightnings that no body can buy, with all their marketing projections counting on all the gas and diesel pick up buyers will suddenly step over each other paying 90-120k for the lightning.

I would buy a $40k lightening for the wife. If they were available.
Over the last few years I have priced out my truck, a 21 f350 SCLB. Ford prices go up $2500 a year on the same truck. So if Ford gives you $2500 it still only holds down costs for one year. I don't expect larger discounts anytime soon if ever. Buy now, cry now.....it will be worse if you wait.....unless of course if money is not a concern.
We're not seeing any SD incentives until demand comes down, why would they offer anything when they can't build what's on order, so I certainly wouldn't hold my breath on that...
Wishful thinking the chip shortage eases too IMO, it's been 2+ years with covid and not a lot has changed regarding chips. I personally thought there would be 10s-100s of SD trucks sitting on the lot by now, boy was I wrong and don't see that changing even with gas prices going up up up.

Same here. I am very disappointed in the direction Ford is attempting to go, they are definitely leading the charge in this new direction. They also have the press carrying their water attempting to get them there, back room deals were made. I was most taken back by his genuine frustration that Super Dutys can't be electric by next year. He really believes we can all be forced into EVs and like it.

that just makes Jim Farley a bigger clown than his more famous cousin in that he doesn’t even know the products he is trying to push. A usable electric super duty would weigh so much it will kill the F250 segment, can you imagine how little payload is left after they add on all the batteries and heavy duty motor/driveline needed for super duty work? Building “pickups” used primarily for commuting and soccer dad/mom duty is one thing, I wonder he ever even looked at a SD underpin before he dreamed up his electric SD scheme
heck even a plug in SD, which arguably would be a better solution for class 2b and up trucks, would eat away at payload that it would only work with gas trucks in the f250 segment.

I could maybe get on board with a 7.3 PowerBoost, with built in generator. Increased hp, torque, and mpg. But that would also kill diesel sales so not likely.
