Hello
I have a 90 F150 extended cab 2WD with auto trans and 5.0 efi and a 84 F150 4WD with a granny box and 351W. Are the frames similar enough to bolt the 84 4WD front end and transfer case into the 90 truck? What computer problems will I have using the 84's granny box instead of the 90's AOD? Are the rear differentials the same dimensions externally so that I may use the 84's 9 inch instead of the 8.8 from the 90? Thanks for any imput.
The Front axle will bolt right up no problem. As for the tranny/tcase, your AOD is set up for 2wd, it would be easier to just use the 4 speed out of the bronc and the transfercase and bolt it up to your 302. (might have to use the crossmember off the bronc) As for the computer, there shouldn't be a problem but you will need to set up a clutch pedal. As for the 9", it's a direct swap.
