If ya look over in the Tech articles you'll find info on a guy who did the Straight Axle swap on a 9? model F150. But try to find find a Straight from 77(i belive?) to 79 So you'll get the High Pinion axle.
Here's a page I used in reference to lifting my truck. We used different parts, but it was the best TTB lift pics/instructions I had seen. Since I did my truck, this guy has already changed his over to a strait axle, which I am getting ready to do on mine. Pretty interesting, and looks like a lot of work.
All F250 4x4s from 1980 to 96 used the Twin Traction Beam front suspension. The difference between the 1/2 ton frontend and the 3/4 ton... The 1/2 tons used coil springs with the standard Dana 44 axle. The 3/4 tons used leaf springs with either the Dana 44 HD or the Dana 50 axles. A straight axle swap is possible on both trucks. There is a kit available for the 1/2 ton trucks but I am not sure about the 3/4 ton. All F-series 4x4s and Broncos from 79 and older used straight axles up front.
on the 3/4 ton trucks (F-250) it is a direct swap from TTB to straight axle...when i did mine all i did was bolt eveyrthing up and it works friggin awesome, highly recommend it. took me and my best friend about 3 hours and that includes pulling the straight axle out of the donor truck
good luck
