Maybe they are fast trucks but they definitely the ugliest trucks ever made...no appeal..no style....and that's why hardly no one buys it because of that....sorry.....when you have a product to sell you gotta have style......also if trucks with too much mods would not pass the safety check for a street vehicle (legal). Must be a loud truck due to freeflow of his illegal exhaust or something in order to release such power.....speed kills...
No offense but you seem to not understand...I'm talking about balancing overall aspects. Speed, looks, safety, and also comparing it's class. Syclone maybe the fastest for smaller trucks but we're talking about a full size Lightning. Lightning rules in this class.....I think you need to get a lightning and try it. More hot chicks will look at you than a Syclone.....common......be for real....lets end this and lets just get along.......
im comparing a stock lightning to the new stock dodge truck. the dodge truck wins. thats all im saying. i never said anything about a stock truck against a lightning with mods. and what if you mod the dodge ever think of that? i mean come on people, do some thinking. i bet if you compare the new dodge to the lightning and allocate each truck an equal amount of cash for mods, i bet the dodge wins. wins stock wins modded, gosh dang your naive.
"The Dodge will be at least 0.8 seconds quicker - that is until Ford ups the ante with its next-generation SVT hotrod pickup. "
I think you misunderstood my statement. By the time most of the Dodge Hemi owner can afford putting some mods....then the lightning will struck again. But for now, most Dodge hemi owners don't want to put any mods for it's to new and it will cost them money. Still with my lightning that I just raced with a friend of mine who just bouth a brand new Dodge Hemi, he was left behind my lightning when I took off. My lightning sounded like a jet turbo when it took off and it made my back sank to my seat. Try a lightning with a few mods....you like it....can't wait till the 2005 version comes around then dodge will compete again....why can't we just get along........don't give lightning a bad name coz it will hurt you coz you can't get one.......
im talking about the dodge ram srt-10 with the viper v10 engine. not the 5.7 L hemi ram 1500.
ROFL because i can't get one? i was actually gonna look at both the dodge srt-10 and ford svt lightning and if the lightning was 5-10k cheaper i will get it, other wise i go with the dodge. you ask why can't we get along then go and insult me? really stay OFF the bong water.

I think lightning is a little cheaper. But my friend dodge ram has the 500 HP and that's the one I raced. Is that the SRT 10 then. I'm confused. This is the one with the air damm on top of the hood....I don't know...anyway a few mods of the lightning like mine did a 12.7 1/4 mile. But I just received my exhaust system kit with the header. I wonder if this will add more horsepower...We'll let you know....
click the link in one of my previous posts, i posted a link to the srt 10. we'll? whos the other? i highly doubt your friend has the srt-10 this truck JUST came out and will be very heard to find on a lot. unless of course you special order. the srt 10 is a 2004. its the first of its kind. does your friends truck have a spoiler and have the viper v10 badge on the side? if not its not the srt 10.
yes headers will add more horsepower.

thanks...that's the one......he's got a black one....it's nice but to me it's a bit bigger than my lightning. I got use to on easy parking on my lightning coz it's a lot shorter..I think..
I didn't really pay any attention, I'll see him this weekend I'll check it out but it look like that picture you showed me in the web site. I remembered also that his truck has 500HP. Does the other dodge hemi goes up to 500HP?....anyway, he's a good friend of mine and we go to the race track together once a month. I'll find out whick truck he's got this weekend.....
could you tell me what year your lightning is? and what mods have been done to it? im looking at both the lightning and srt-10. price is gonna be the deciding factor, but it can go either way still. i like both trucks.
hmm $45000 for the srt-10 or $32000 for a 04 svt lightning. i think i will go with the lightning considering its 13k cheaper. thats $13 k to spend on mods. the srt 10 might be faster in the end with mods or vs stock, but for that 13k i can make the lightning faster.
The Cyclone's AWD actually hurts it a lot top end, and is one of the reasons the top speed is somewhat low. It is also very expensive to replace, and it cuts the payload down a lot. Add to that it's an S-10 I believe, and you have a pretty crummy "truck".
The appeal of the Lightning is that it is a 1/2 ton truck. You can pull a boat with it without breaking a sweat, and the suspension and frame won't twist or snap. The Cyclone may, and I mean may be a better sprinter, but it is not a better truck in any way, shape, or form in today's world. You ever actually driven one and felt the brakes and steering? The L is just a superior vehicle for day to day driving.
