We were supposed to go drag racing this coming weekend, but the truck acted up again, so we’re in Ohio without the truck. There’s a rally of our teardrop campers this week also in Ohio so we are at that. Storms came through at midnight and 4am. We got into the car and drove into a clearing. The 6 trees came down in the first storm right next to us.
Same thing as last year in June. We were about 40 miles from home and it started backfiring out of the exhaust and loss of power. Last year new points and condenser fixed it. We had to get out to Ohio, so we came home and parked it in the garage.
Wow! Glad you weathered the storm Dennis! What is up with all this violent weather. Nebraska has been getting pounded all spring also! Hope you get your truck woes taken care of😊
My wife and I had a similar night. Too bad we couldn't relocate our Gnadenhutten, OH home to a similar clearing. The tree is about 15'-20' high and on top of the house (about 40' above the surrounding yard. Luckily there was no structural damage, only a lot of missing shingles.
We still have no electricity. A lot of Holmes county is still out. I got the little generator working again. Ran the air conditioner in the camper, it’s down to 72 degrees. The 1st storm, we should have looked at the phone warning. Till we decided to get in the suburban, it was shaking quite a bit. We drove a quarter mile away to an open area with no trees. You can’t see what’s coming at night. I don’t know if we were on the edge of a tornado or not. Some of the 5th wheelers were lifted off their outriggers and the blocks underneath moved. The little teardrop was pointed directly into the wind, may have saved it. We’ll see what tomorrow’s storms will bring. When the 2nd storm came we got in the suburban and left right away. We saw the downed trees after the 1st storm.
Kevin, we’re still going. We’re going to pit aside Harry and give him a hand. We still have no electricity. We must be out of here by 12 noon and we’ll be going straight to the track.
