Depending whether you definitely have a blown head gasket and its still being driven that will indeed cause larger issues. A blown head gasket if caught in time and is nothing more than a failed gasket AND repaired quickly longer term reliability shouldn't be diminished. If the head has developed issues then that's a matter of competent diagnosis and subsequent repair.
