I recently replaced the rubber around the vent window on my 66 F100 and much to my dismay the glass was hard to close due to the new rubber. It was so tight after a few times of opening and closing the window the upper hinge broke off. I have not been able to locate any of the glass frame parts online. Anyone with suggestions? Thanks for your help.,
probly not gonna find it. boneyard trip is in order. just did both mine, after sandblasting frames. one side works great, the other does not, have not figured it out yet.problem is they are the last piece to come out, so you have to take the whole door apart. again.
Recently replaced vent rubber and initially found it difficult to get the vent to close. First got the vent to seat/close before installing. Used 'tire conditioner', prefer over armoral, which softened the rubber making it easier for seating in the channel, and also allow for some adjustment with the vent window frame. Took some tention off by slightly loosening the nut at the lower pivot. Then installed vent and focused on the vent adjustments. Put the glass back on the trac and with 2 bolts at the bottom of the division bar being my last adjustment.
Unable to locate the upper pivot arm and had to resort to salvage yard.
After couple of frustrating attempts found the steps listed above worked for me. Likely another FTE member will have another method that works as well or better. Of course, if all else fails you can get out the 'exacto knife'.
Good luck,
dave

Might I inquire where did upper hinge fail? Was it rivets @ main frame, or rivets on moving part [vent-glass frame] or pin in upper hinge?
If the fixed, or rotating frame rivets failed, but frames are solid, a good welder w/ TIG or MIG system can weld hinges directly to frames. It is a permanent repair & must be exact when executed 1st time.
As for seating rubber gaskets, as everybody's said, you should use a suitable lubricant. I use a soft rubber mallet to fully seat gaskets. All pieces should be clean and smooth as possible B4 installing new seals.
Might I ask whos seals you used? You can eMail me via FTE if you do not want to publicize manufacturers name. Also I may have a source to get replacement Vent frame assemblies [I say MAY]

Thanks for all the info. I purchased the rubber replacements from *** Truck. I will look into a machinist to fix the hinge. The hinge broke in half. The rivet junction is intact. Thanks again.
