Guys who are some of your favorite 53-56 F100 builders? Around my neck of the woods Don Jacks of South Carolina, Mike Chesser of Georgia, and Bobby Hancock of Tennessee come to mind.
Why, around here on the forum, we look no further than "John" from Canada, otherwise known as 56panelford; or the other "John" from Alabama--I don't think either is a "professional", but both are very accomplished. There are others too that I'm sure I'm overlooking.
I think you are correct Jim , there has been some beautiful trucks turned out on this forum over the years i've been on here .
And i have a great respect for anyone that can turn out a nice build from a home workshop .

I agree with both. I would include Joe Gaddy, Charlieled, John Niolon, John Hammer, Terry Clark, Mechwagon, John out of Canada, Drewski, and so many others I am forgetting. These guys build magazine worthy trucks.
I respect the professional builders because I know the work involved, and I have no issues with anyone wanting to spend 6-figures to get a vehicle restored, but as noted above, there are a lot of non-professional / backyard builders out there who have put some very nice looking rides on the road.
Personally , I have done a several myself which hold their own at any car show or other events, and while the paint jobs may not have that thousand foot deep mirror shine like you get from a professional builder dong a $30K paint job, I would argue that I get as many views at a show / event or on the street cruising as a professionally built does. In some cases it's been my personal experience that a lot of people gravitate to the home builders wanting to know how they built the whole thing(including paint) in their home garage / shop without any outside help.
kudos to the professional, but huge kudos to the home builders.

Don Jacks built both of these. '62 Unibody and a '54 Panel. I drive the Panel and take it to shows here in Upstate SC.
The Unibody and the Panther at the Freedom Celebration at Whitefield Baptist Church on June 25th, 2023.
Oh wow. You are Phillip Ellison's grand child. Very nice. I would talk to Phillip every year either at Chimney Rock in Lake Lure, NC Or the F100 Nationals. The unibody has the Chevelle Clip with a 302 Injected engine like mine I believe. Nice to have next generations enjoying the trucks

Yes, I am Phillip Ellison's grandson. Ted Hunter bought the Pink Panther from Phillip in 1998 for his wife after he had owned it 15 years. With that money, Phillip built the Unibody. Ted and Phillip would cruise together quite often. Not sure if the Panther joined in on those trips after Elaine got it.
Ted passed away a few months ago and we saw the Panther on Facebook Marketplace for sale. Phillip was very happy to have it back. I drive it to shows and he drives the Unibody.

Very cool. Ted also bought a purple 53' chopped top F100 built by Byron Welch of Crossville, Tn. Good to make your virtual acquaintance.
