Hey gang so I had the series of unfortunate events of being towed. My van was in gear because it was on a hill so naturally I left it in first. This was a customized econoline with a 4 speed overdrive manual transmission from the factory. When I picked it up from the tow yard the worker was unable to drive it out and only after giving it much gas it moseyed on out of the yard where I safely parked it in a local neighborhood. No reverse no coherent changing of gears just a jumble of limp positions and half general directions from the stick. Under the chassis I found there to be hanging rod of sorts. Please any information positive or otherwise to make this situation more clear would be appreciated. Hope you can see from this pic.
The tow yard fixed jt for me thank you!! Simple easy peasy.
Oh nice! But if it popped off once, it may happen again - crawl under there with a bright light and take a good look at all linkages, just to make sure you won't lose some gears of you hit a big enough pothole for example.
