I just picked up my new F350 yesterday from the dealer and I think they may have registered it incorrectly with the MTO as a commercial vehicle.
From reading the MTO website all trucks over 4,500kg's being used for commercial purposes needs to be registered as such, however there is an exemption for persoanlly used pickup trucks with a GVWR above 4,500kg but less than 6,500kg's if not towing a commercial trailer. This is my exact situation personal use towing an RV.
Below are some screen shots of what I have
- A commercial vehicle Inspection sticker
- My door sticker saying my trucks GVWR is 5,025kg's
- My MTO Permit showing a GVWR max of 4,500kg's and what looks line a notation meanning it was registered as commercial
- I also have the plates with black lettering not blue
Did they make a mistake and is it just a matter of me taking all this paperwork back to a Service Ontario office to have them correct?
