frame identification
HEEEEELP......I have a Rolling chassis in my yard that was given to me about 3 yrs ago. The guy that gave it to me said it was a 76' f-250 4wd frame. Is there a way to find out what year it is? I have looked for stamped #'s but could not find any. Can you tell by the leaf spring widths? The front leafs are 4" wide, while the back ones are like 2 1/2 ". Is there a difference in frame widths?Any help would be great. The old lady is going to have a bird if I don't start doing something with it soon.

I found the VIN# on top of frame, under where the cab would be, on the driver's side. You may have to wore brush the dirt rust ETC to see them . The VIN# will give you all the information that you need.
