I see WXBoy posting part numbers of various components now and then, and I'm wondering where he gets 'em. There are a couple of things I'd like to see about ordering, but I feel like a doofus making a post just to ask "what's the part number for the factory step rail end cap?" Is there a Ford site that lists part numbers?
P.S.--What's the part number for the factory step rail end cap?

I have a service manual on CD that Ford had generated for service departments. Mine is specific for 97 and carries the below vehicles:
AeroMax, AeroStar, Cargo truck, Econoline, Expedition, Explorer F Series, B Series, F150, F250, F350, F Super Duty, L-Series, Louisvilles, Mountaneer, Ranger, Villager and WindStar.
It has Electrical, Vacumn Diagrams as well as body, frame, engine, trim, body, suspension, driveline, brake, tranny, clutch, exhaust, fuel, steering, climate, instrumentation, batt-charging, audio, lighting, electrical power and on-board diagnostics manuals.
Its geared for slow PCs and its navigation is similar to Windows 95 but it is good to have since Chiltons type manuals don't have items this does.
As far as part # for step rail end cap, couldn't find it.
You can check Ebay as well, there's a few people selling the CD and also sheets out of the Collision Manual given to Body Shops. They become handy when you need them. But theres nothing like having the Factory Service Manuals from Ford (Helm inc) - they're expensive but very reliable. For your part number you can go to www.partsgalaxy.com - they are a Ford - Lincoln - Mercury parts reseller
